Service, is an integral part of who Pioneers are. Pioneers move those in need from adversity to achievement through their volunteerism. We make a real difference in the communities we serve.
During our Centennial, Pioneers will be undertaking some special service initiatives in honor of our anniversary including:
Centennial Volunteer Hours Grants Program - Grants will be given to selected Pioneers' units to facilitate sparking local partnerships through Pioneers' projects that meet needs specific to individual communities during 2011.
Pioneers Projects in a Box - Pioneers is piloting 3 'projects in a box' - across the United States and Canada in 2009 and 2010. These projects will also play a part in our service intiatives in 2011 and include:
Pioneers Environmental Initiative: Sparking a Clean, Green Planet
Pioneers Literacy Project: Spark the Love of Reading
Pioneers Military Mission: Sparking Support for Soldiers and their Families
One Day International Project - Planning is also underway to launch a one-day project carried out by all Pioneers units in 2011, our Centennial year. Stay tuned for details!
